Tutankhamun

Tutankhamun (born Tutankhaten, meaning Living image of Aten) was a pharaoh in the 18th dynasty of Ancient Egypt . He was the son of Akhenaten and one of Akhenatens sisters, Nefertit  (inbreeding was normal in ancient Egypt). His parents had 6 daughters, including Meritaton and Ankhesenamun, who later became his wife. They had 2 stillborn children.

Tutankhamun became pharaoh at year 9-10, and died 10 years after (between 19-20 years old). It is possible that he was killed by Ay and Horemheb, who became the last pharaohs in the 18th dynasty. He was buried in the Valley of the kings.

Tutankhamun became famous after he was found, because he had the first found tomb not robbed (KV62). He was discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. His body is now in Cairo.
